π Janby Cloud β Quick Start Guide
Who this guide is for: Restoration group administrators and restaurant owners setting up Janby Cloud for the first time.
What you'll achieve: A fully configured organization with registered devices, products, elaboration routes, and (optionally) workspaces.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have the following information ready:
- Your organization's name and country
- A valid email address β you will use it to log in to Janby Cloud every time
- A list of the Janby-compatible devices available in your kitchen(s)
You do not need to install anything. Janby Cloud runs entirely in your web browser.
Step 1 β Create Your Organization
Open your browser and go to https://my.janby.kitchen/register. Fill in the following fields:
- Organization name: The name of your company or group
- Email: The email address you will use to log in to Janby Cloud
- Password: Set up a password to log in to Janby Cloud
- Country: The country where the organization is based
- User name: Your full name
Once submitted, your account is created and you will be logged in as the Owner of your organization β the highest permission level in Janby Cloud.
Your Organization Code
Shortly after registering, you will receive an email containing your Organization Code. This is a unique alphanumeric identifier in the format XXX-XXX (three letters/numbers, a hyphen, three letters/numbers).
This code is essential β you will need it in the next step to link your kitchen devices to your Janby Cloud account. Keep it somewhere accessible.
Can't find the email? You can view your Organization Code at any time at https://my.janby.kitchen/organization β it appears at the top of your organization details.
Logging in after registration
Once your account is set up, you can always return to Janby Cloud by going to https://my.janby.kitchen and logging in with your email and password.
Step 2 β Register Your Devices
Devices are the Janby-ready kitchen machines you want to register in your Cloud account β sous-vide cookers, vacuum sealers, probes, ovens, blast chillers, and so on. You must register your devices before defining your products, because product elaboration routes are built around the specific equipment you have available.
How to register a device
Registration is done directly on the device, not in the browser. On each device's screen, locate the settings or configuration menu (refer to the device's manual if needed) and enter the following two fields:
- Organization Code: The
XXX-XXXcode you received by email after registration - Activation code / Serial number: The unique identifier printed on the device or provided in its documentation
Once both fields are submitted on the device, it will automatically link to your Janby Cloud organization. You can confirm it has appeared at https://my.janby.kitchen/devices.
Repeat this process for every Janby-ready device in your kitchen.
Why this matters: Available elaboration steps for products are tied to specific equipment types. A regeneration program can only be assigned to a regeneration sous-vide cooker; a chilling program can only be assigned to a blast chiller. Without registered devices, you cannot build complete routes.
Step 3 β Create Your Products
Products are any food item or service your organization handles β from raw ingredients to finished dishes. Head to https://my.janby.kitchen/products to get started.
Product types
Janby Cloud recognizes three types of products:
- Ingredient: Raw material received as-is (e.g. chicken breast, olive oil) - No bill of materials
- Semi-finished product: Prepared/"Ready to use" item used as a component in other products (e.g. a sauce, a pre-cooked base) - Yes, made up of ingredients and/or other semi-finished products
- Final product: The finished dish or item served to the customer - Yes, made up of semi-finished products and/or ingredients
Allergens defined on ingredients and semi-finished products automatically propagate up through semi-finished products to final products.
Product formats
For each product you can define all formats it is handled and measured:
- Individual portions
- Bulk
- Multi-portion packages
- Other custom formats
How to create a product
- Navigate to Products in the main menu
- Click Add product
- Fill in the product name and type (ingredient, semi-finished, or final product)
- (Optional) Define its formats and information
- (Optional) If the product is a semi-finished product or final product, add its bill of materials by linking its component ingredients and/or semi-finished products
- Save the product
What's Next?
Once your organization is set up, you can:
- Add more users and assign them roles and workspaces
- Expand your product catalog with additional products and routes
- Monitor device activity and track elaboration history for full traceability
- Manage programs on your devices as your routes evolve
For detailed guidance on each of these topics, refer to the full Janby Cloud User Manual.
